We are women who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We come from many backgrounds and differing circumstances of marriage, finances, and political beliefs. Although we may live in diverse situations, we recognize each other as sisters and are committed to mutual support.
We embrace the challenges of womanhood. We affirm that it is our privilege and our responsibility to raise up and strengthen the next generation, whether through motherhood or as members of our communities.
It is our desire to create a haven in the home. Regardless of the size and shape of our family, we strive to ensure that we are sheltered from the negativity and discord which pervades our world. This requires prayer, cooperation, humility, and parental presence where there are children.
Single, married, widowed, or divorced, we reaffirm the importance of marriage. We realize the significance of parents raising children in homes with mothers and fathers as equal, united partners, supporting each other financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
We believe that men and women can be equal in importance without being the same. Our talents and abilities complement each other and we support and strengthen each other when we recognize and appreciate our differences, while working towards the same goal.
We value the counsel of our church leaders and respect their leadership. We try to follow their words, including The Family: A Proclamation to the World. We endeavor to stand for truth wherever we may be.
We have influence for good in the community. We offer our services outside our home to support those things which are consistent with our faith and principles and which strengthen our communities.
We look for balance in our lives. We understand the importance of building our spirituality. We believe that as we act in accordance with our faith and our principles we are strengthened not weakened. While we strive for perfection, we realize that we will make mistakes. We recognize our imperfections and choose not to take offense at other’s errors.
We understand the importance of continuous education and seek elevating activities throughout our lives. We are individuals with special talents and abilities that, when shared, enrich us all. We appreciate our differences and seek to develop and share our talents to the benefit of everyone.
We stand together, firm in our faith, committed to each other and our families. We are LDS women.
